KOLKATA: Teams started trickling into the city on Saturday to participate in the Federation Cup the biggest knock-out football tournament and the country's version of the FA Cup which gets underway here at the Salt Lake Stadium on Monday. Goan side Vasco joined the defending champion Mahindra United, which has been camping here for a long time and has warmed up positively by winning the IFA Shield on Friday. Sporting Clube de Goa, which crashed out in the semifinal of the IFA Shield, too has been in the town for some time, apart from the four home sides, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan Sporting and Chirag United SC. In the opener, Mahindra will kick off against Chirag United, while Vasco will take on Mohammedan Sporting. The rest of the teams in the 16-team event will arrive on Sunday. Zee Sports, which has a 10-year telecast contract with the AIFF, has announced that it will be telecasting all the matches live. The action can be also seen live in the Middle East through TEN Sports, which the Zee Network has acquired recently.
