HYDERABAD: Hyderabad fought back well to bundle out Uttar Pradesh for 185 and in the second innings scored 116 for four on the second day of the three-day all-India Vijay Merchant Trophy (under-17) cricket tournament at the Gymkhana ground here on Saturday. In another match at the NFC ground, Karnataka was off to good start scoring 193 for two in reply to Bengal's 452 for seven declared, with Suraj Sampath (96 batting, 157 balls, 15x4) in sight of a century.
Himanshu shines
At Visakhapatnam, Punjab was in strong position against Haryana thanks to Himanshu Chawla's unbeaten 154 (21x4,1x6) and fine bowling by Gunjot Singh and Siddhartha Kaul. At Bangalore, Tejas Karia's 115 (162b, 18 x 4) and Priyank Panchal's 112 (173b, 21 x 4) helped Gujarat gain a 236-run first innings lead over Assam.
