Ongole: Mild tremors were felt in some parts of Ongole on Saturday morning. Residents of Satyanarayanapuram, Santapet and Kurnool Road felt the tremors and shattering of windows and doors and ran out of their homes. No damage to property was reported. However, people in other areas did not feel any tremors. The tremors were part of the `natural seismicity' of a major fault line running through the region and there was nothing unusual about them, according to National Geophysical Research Institute scientist R.K. Chadda. The seismic observatory at NGRI recorded the tremors which were of 3.4 magnitude on the Richter Scale.
