Patiala: A court here on Saturday rejected the application of Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi seeking copies of some documents attached with the chargesheet in a cheating case in a particular language. Junior Magistrate Rajvinder Singh rejected his plea and said that copies of documents could only be supplied to the accused as attached with the chargesheet. Daler was present in the court. The court adjourned the case for January 15 for the arguments on an application seeking seizing of passport of the Punjabi Singer.

Police had registered a case under various sections of the IPC and the Indian Passport Act on September 19, 2003 at the Sadar police station here on the complaint of Bakhshish Singh of Balbehra village against Daler and his brother Shamsher Mehndi. -- PTI
