SPSB, Jharkhand take honours

KOLKATA: The newly affiliated Steel Plant Sports Board (SPSB), backed by Tata Archery Academy, swept almost all the medals in the recurve section while Jharkhand dominated the compound bow event in the 29th junior National archery championship which concluded at Gangtok on Saturday.

The results:

Recurve: Boys individual final: Amardeep Kerketta (SP) 109 bt Prabhat Kandir (SP) 98; Third place: Sandeep Kambhoj (SAI) 110 bt Gursanveer (Pun) 103.

Girls: Nisha Dutta (SP) 98 bt Rosy Lalrem (SP) 93; Third place: Laxmi Rani Majhi (SP) 101 bt B. Lucy Devi (SAI) 96.

Team finals: Boys: Steel Plant 212 bt SAI 200; Third place: Punjab 204 bt UP 150.

Girls: Steel Plant 200 bt Bengal 158; Third place: Manipur 191 bt SAI 188.

Compound: Boys individual final: Renso Purty (Jhar) 109 (T8) bt Vikash Sherawat (Del) 109 (T7); Third place: Sanjay Swansasy (Jhar) 110 bt Santosh Tamang (Skm) 105.

Girls: Namita Jadhav (Jhar) 110 (T9, 9) bt Sweety Kumari (Jhar) 110 (T9, 7); Third place: M. Rishitha (AP) 102 bt Sumanlata Murmu (Jhar) 101.

Team final:

Boys: Sikkim 217 bt Jharkhand 209.
