KOCHI: Video shop owners where the Anti-piracy Cell conducted raids on Friday evening have complained that the police had taken away genuine CDs alleging that they were pirated. A press release issued here said the pirated CDs cost only Rs. 20 and Rs. 30, whereas most of the CDs taken into custody by the police team were priced between Rs. 200 and Rs. 300. The material taken away had bills, but the search team was not ready to check them, alleged one shop owner. He complained that the police officials took away genuine CDs according to orders given by superior officers.
