Minister visits ailing students

Children recovering from side-effects of vaccination administered at school

KOZHIKODE: Education Minister M.A. Baby on Saturday visited the students of Vattoli National Higher Secondary School, who developed side-effects after taking tetanus shots, at the Medical College Hospital where there are being treated.

A student Roopisha, 15, died after she reportedly developed complications following the vaccination she received at the school.

Parents and local people of Vattoli surrounded the Minister with complaints.

Talks held

The Minister later held talks with hospital superintendent and College principal.

Mr. Baby said that the authorities were asked to provide expert treatment to the students undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Health Minister visits

Health Minister, P.K. Sreemathy also visited the students at the hospital later in the evening.
