MANGALORE: It is imperative to involve student community in a concerted movement against problems posed by terrorism, conversion and untouchability, columnist Chakravarthy Soolibele has said. Students should also be oriented in their perspective towards life and their contribution to nation, he said. Addressing a convention of students at "Samarasya rally" organised by Sri Guruji Janmashatabdhi Samiti here on Saturday, Mr. Chakravarthy said it was sad that the youth had cricketers and film stars as their role models. They should have better choice of people for role models, he said. He said that terrorism was no longer a problem confined to Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Chakravarthy said its effect was now being felt closer home at places such as Bangalore and Mysore. Blaming the rapid spread of terrorism to lack of awareness on how terror networks flourished, Mr. Chakravarthy urged the youth to remain alive to designs of anti-national elements. Mr. Chakravarthy also spoke about issues such as conversion, naxalism and untouchability. Earlier, students from various colleges took out a procession from Jyothi Circle to Nehru Maidan.
