IIT-Madras, Caterpillar Inc. sign pact

CHENNAI: The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Caterpillar Inc. have inked a memorandum of understanding on continuing education, collaborative research and consultancy. This is the first time Caterpillar is tying up with an Indian university.

"The MoU is an extension of our research and technology model in collaborating with leading universities of the countries where we have a presence," Mar Pflederer, vice-president (technology and solutions department) and chief technology officer, Caterpillar Inc, said here on Saturday after signing the pact along with M.S. Ananth, Director, IIT-Madras.
