HYDERABAD:
Finally, the tussle between the State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) and the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) over developing bus shelters at important terminals in the city seems to have come to an end, as the renovation of the bus shelters will commence within a fortnight.
In all, there are 1,250 bus shelters in the city, of which 600-odd are in the MCH area. Renovation of these bus shelters will be taken up in a phased manner.
Over 300 bus shelters that require immediate replacement have been identified, said MCH Additional Commissioner (Traffic and Transportation) N.V.S Reddy.
"Depending on the size of the bus shelter, it would cost about Rs. 1.5 to Rs. 2 lakhs to renovate each bus shelter," said Mr. Reddy.
