HYDERABAD: City-based Aditya Park Inn hotel has bagged the first prize in National Energy Conservation Awards for taking steps to conserve energy in hotel sector recently. The awards are given by the Union Government in various categories to organisations recognising their efforts in energy conservations and management. Chairman and managing director of Manjeera Group G. Yoganand received the award from Union Minister for Power Sushil Kumar Shinde.
`Inspiring'
In a press release here on Saturday, Mr. Yoganand said that a national level recognition was inspiring and would motivate others to take similar steps in future. The power-savers of air-condition plant, lighting panels and kitchen in the hotel save 400 units of power in a day, translating into savings of Rs. 50,000 per month. The hotel has installed a Desuperheater to use waste heat from AC systems to produce hot water thereby saving an additional Rs. 25,000 per month.
