Vallarpadam: plea to land owners

KOCHI: The owners of the land to be acquired for the Vallarpadam International Container Transhipment Terminal - Kalamassery Road should present the documents of their land, including the original title deeds, tax receipt, possession certificate, non-attachment certificate and encumbrance certificate, at the ICTT Special Tahsildar's Office, Eloor, says District Collector. Only on production of these documents can the steps for distribution of the price of the land be started.

Bank staff protest

Kochi: The Canara Bank Employees' Union observed Saturday as `black day' in protest against the transfer of employees to distant branches without observing norms. Marches were held in front of the bank branches at Eroor, Fort Kochi and Aluva as well as in front of the Regional Office in the city.

CDs seized

Kochi: The police seized 166 pirated CDs of films and 27 packets of CD covers from a shop in the Penta Menaka Complex at Menaka Junction on Saturday.
