A happy reunion

Staff Reporter

11 children reunited with their parents

Bangalore: "I am so glad to meet my parents after such a long time," said Darshan, who on Saturday was reunited with his parents by Sathi, Society for Assistance to Children in Difficult Situation.

Eleven children were reunited with their parents after going through a de-addiction camp.

Rescued

Twenty-one children, who attended the month-long camp organised in Kolar district, were rescued by Sathi from the streets and railway stations.

"My son has returned after a long time. I am very happy today," said a mother, whose was visibly moved.

A few children seemed a little disappointed as their parents had not come to pick them up. Sathi volunteers, however, said that the parents had been tracked and the children would be taken to their respective homes shortly.

`Listen to parents'

Master Kishen, youngest director, who was the chief guest on the occasion, called upon the children not to run away from home henceforth and listen to their parents.

"We should all grow up to be good human beings and try to achieve something for our country," he said.

He urged the parents, who were present, to nurture the talents of their children and not chide them for not doing well academically.

Palakshaiah, president of Gandhinagar Block Congress, Kamala Prabhu and Ashwath from Akshaya Patra, ISKCON, were present.
