Kumaraswamy throws open road in BTM Layout for traffic

Staff Reporter

BMP laid the road under a World Bank aided project

BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Saturday opened for traffic the newly laid BTM Layout 29th Main Road. This 2.47-km road has been laid by Bangalore Mahanagara Palike under the World Bank-aided Karnataka Municipal Reforms Project. The road connects the 100 feet Ring Road with the Bannerghatta Road after J.D. Mara bus stop.

The entire stretch, expect at a few intersections, has a central median. Footpaths run along both sides of the road. Technical adviser to BMP R. Jayaprasad said the road had been laid on a cross slope enabling the smooth flow of rainwater across it.

Residents of the layout expressed happiness over the quality of the roadwork.

They wanted the Government to construct a bigger bus stand.
