Silva piles on Kiwis' agony
WELLINGTON:
Chamara Silva made an unbeaten 152, his maiden Test century, and Daniel Vettori took seven wickets as Sri Lanka set New Zealand 504 to win the second Test at the Basin Reserve on Sunday.
Sri Lanka was all out for 365 in its second innings after leading by 138 on the first and New Zealand had reached 75 for two around breaks for rain and bad light, when stumps were drawn.
Silva, 79 not out when play resumed on Sunday, carried on to his first Test century from 145 balls with 12 fours.
He continued to support the Sri Lankan innings and was 152 not out when its final wicket fell, having batted for five and half hours and hit 20 boundaries. AP
