Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
THRISSUR: The State Government has no plan to file a review petition in the Supreme Court against its verdict acquitting the accused in the Jayakrishnan murder case. Replying to a question posed by mediapersons here on Sunday, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that such a move was not under consideration.
Mr. Balakrishnan said that more police stations would be set up along the coastal areas. Asked whether private vehicles would be included in President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's motorcade during his visit to the State, the Minister said the Government had nothing against using private vehicles.
"In the past 20 years, private vehicles have been a part of official motorcades. About 130 vehicles are needed during each visit of a dignitary. Private vehicles are hired if the Government-owned ones cannot meet the requirement," Mr. Balakrishnan said.
