Police suspect construction workers' role in the burglary 20 tolas of ornaments, Rs. 4.5 lakhs in cash taken away
HYDERABAD:
Gold ornaments and cash worth over Rs. 6 lakhs were stolen from a house at Saidabad late on Saturday night. Burglars broke into the house of Syed Suriaya Anjum through staircase, broke open the bedroom lock and made away with 20 tolas of gold jewellery, Rs.4.5 lakhs in cash and other valuables.
She and her three children went to their relative's house in the colony at 10 p.m. and returned home on Sunday morning only to find their house being burgled. Saidabad Inspector M. Ram Mohan Rao said that construction workers could have committed the offence as another house was being constructed on the first floor.
"The main gate and front door were intact and only bedroom door was broke open. It is evident that persons who have been working there for the last few weeks could have entered the house and fled with the booty," he said.
