CHENNAI: There was plenty of "Maddy" charm at a get-together organised by Sifymax for his fans. The broadband portal ran a competition, in which the top five down-loaders of ringtones from songs featuring Madhavan won an afternoon of tea and a conversation with him, producer Khushboo and music director D. Imman, who all worked on his latest release Erendu (better known as Rendu). President, Portals, Sify, V. Sivaramakrishnan said that during the four-day competition, 20,000 ringtones were downloaded. The medium (Internet) was something that complements TV and print, and it was in line with the habits and lifestyle of the youth today, he said. Noting this Madhavan said, "In Tamil Nadu, 70 per cent of the money for films comes from the theatres. Only 30 per cent comes from digital rights. This is because this area has not been exploited fully." He said he would like to tie-up with Sifymax, as his media partner for all his future releases. He expresses satisfaction at the website they created for Rendu. Madhavan also complimented the music director D. Imman, who sang a part of the most downloaded song in the competition Mobila Mobila from the film. Khushboo said she was thrilled with the way Madhavan did Yaaro Yevalo Enru. He acted like he was really singing it." The competition winners were Minakshi, Bhavani, Das, Dinesh and Leo, who downloaded over 100 ringtones.
