NEW DELHI: The Indian Parliamentarians Forum for Democracy in Burma has sought the release of Aung San Suu Kyi, National League for Democracy general secretary, who continues to remain under detention in Yangon. The Forum also called upon India to use its "good offices" with the military junta to secure Ms. Suu Kyi's freedom. Nirmala Deshpande, Robert Kharshling, Sharad Joshi, B.S. Gnanadesikan and A.R. Shaheen were signatories to the statement.
