VILLUPURAM: The police on Monday arrested the founder of the Jayasurya Educational Trust, Rayar and the managing director of the Jayasurya Teacher Training College, Jaya Rayar on the charges of wilfully violating the admission rules. The police said the teacher training college had admitted 116 candidates, as against the permitted strength of 50. The college reportedly collected Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 2 lakh from each of the candidates for admission. But when it came to examinations, only 41 candidates were given the hall tickets. The agitated candidates had lodged a complaint with the police. The police booked Rayars under Sections 406 (breach of trust) and 418 (deliberately misleading the people) of the Indian Penal Code.
