Sushant, Paramveer Singh guide MVSR to convincing win

HYDERABAD: Centuries by P. Sushant (103) and Paramveer Singh (136) helped MVSR Engineering College score a convincing, 280-run win over Sri Ramachandra College in the Osmania University inter-college cricket tournament for the Ranga Reddy Trophy here on Monday.

OU Engg college 241 (E. Ramesh 41, Suman 61) bt VV Engg College 108 (Ravindra Naik five for 30).

Loyola Academy 195 (K.M.S. Santosh Kumar 68, Shiva five for 25) bt Railway Degree College 161.

MVSR Engg College 353 (Danny Derek Prince 44, P. Sushant 103, Paramveer Singh 136) bt Sri Ramachandra College 73 (T. Vijay Karthik five for 40, S. Rohit five for 33).

OU Commerce 120 lost to Anwar-ul-Uloom 121 for three (Anwar Ahmed Khan 40).

Little Flower Degree College 179 (P.V. Sairam 41) lost to Nizam College 182 for six (Sk. Urooj 45, B. Ashuthosh Kumar 55 not out).

SD Signodia College 318 (Vishal Singh 70, Syed Ghouse 80) bt Matrusri Institute of PH Studies 111 (Vishal Singh five for 25, Sagar Singh four for 30).

Walker Town wins

Walker Town recorded a five-wicket win over Victoria in the final of the A-Division (one-day) knockout cricket tournament here.

Easy for Zorastrian

Zorastrian Club scored a six-wicket win over Secunderabad Club in the Sandpiper Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament here.

The scores: Sec'bad Club 158 lost to Zorastrian 163 for four in 20 overs (Tamsheed 77 not out, Kushal 56).

Deccan Club 209 for three (Pardur 63 not out, Venkat Dhatrak 80) bt JHIC 100 for eight.

Press Club 113 for nine lost to Nizam Club 119 for one (Aditya Agarwal 44, Imad Farooqui 53 not out).

St. Ann's triumphs

St. Ann's College (Mehdipatnam) won the Osmania University inter-college carrom championship for women topping the round-robin league after defeating Kastruba College 2-1, OU Women's College 3-0 and Anwar-ul-Uloom 3-0.

Kasturba College and OU Women's College were second and third respectively.

Torch relay

The torch relay of the 43rd all-India public schools athletic meet, commencing from Tuesday, was organised from AP Olympic Bhavan here on Monday.

At Visakhapatnam, NAD CC beat Champion CC by four wickets in the 21st annual D. Sekhar Rao memorial cricket tournament.

At Guntur, Nellore outplayed Kurnool 5-1 while Chittoor blanked Anantapur 5-0 in the 23rd Andhra senior state inter-district hockey tournament.
