KADAPA: The ordinance promulgated by the State Government for taking over assigned lands had proved dear for Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Rajya Sabha Member and Telugu Desam Party leader M.V. Mysoora Reddy alleged on Monday. Addressing partymen who staged a dharna before the Rajupalem MRO office in Proddatur constituency, Dr. Mysoora Reddy alleged that Proddatur MLA N. Varadarajulu Reddy's brothers encroached upon 300 acres of land in Porumamilla in Badvel constituency, like YSR who usurped lands at Idupulapaya in Vempalle mandal. The MP sought relaxation of crop insurance guidelines to benefit Bengal gram farmers. Bankers were accepting crop insurance premium payment from farmers on production of certificates issued by village secretaries, he said and wanted orders to enable ryots to directly pay the premium. YSR was embroiled in his land issue and was neglecting farmers, he alleged. Rajya Sabha Member and district TDP president C. Ramachandraiah also charged Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy with lacking commitment towards farmers' welfare. YSR staged padayatras before the polls, but was not paying attention to them now or resolving their problems, he alleged. Former Proddatur MLA M.V. Ramana Reddy, Proddatur constituency TDP convenor M. Linga Reddy and party leader K. Ramesh Reddy participated.
