Action sought against police personnel

KOZHIKODE: The Balagokulam Kozhikode district committee has deplored the alleged torture of a child and her mother by a woman Sub Inspector and a woman head constable attached to the City Police a couple of days ago.

In a statement here on Monday district secretary M. Sathyan said that both the police personnel should be removed from the Police Department.

Sub Inspector Vimala and head constable Subaida attached to the Women's Police Station here were placed under suspension on the charges of beating up a one-year old girl Jeeshma and her mother, Mini, hailing from Thiruvambadi near the Corporation Stadium on Saturday.
