NEW DELHI: Bhaskaracharya Tripathi has been chosen for the 15th Vachaspati Puraskar, awarded by the K.K. Birla Foundation, for his outstanding contribution to Sanskrit literature. Dr. Tripathi has been selected for his work "Saket Saurabham", the Foundation announced here on Monday. The award, given to honour a writer for his or her work in Sanskrit published during the past 10 years, carries prize money of Rs. 1 lakh. Mr. Tripathi at present is Chairman of Shri Ekrasanand Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya at Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh. The Foundation also announced the Bihari Puraskar for 2006, which has been given to Alka Saraogi for her novel "Shesh Kadambari", as well as the Shankar Puraskar, which has gone to Shanti Jain for her work "Lokgiton ke Sandarbh aur Aayam".
