KOLLAM: A meeting of the city corporation council here on Monday decided to install gas-fired crematoria at the Polayathodu and Mulamkadakam public crematoria. Mayor N. Padmalochanan said the work in this connection would be entrusted to the Government undertakings Raidco and Keltron. Bio-waste treatment plants would be set up at Kadapakada and Polayathodu public markets and the slaughter house. The one at the slaughter house was being set up by Anert with 90 per cent subsidy. Work on the plants at the markets would be entrusted to a private sector company, if Anert did not come forward to take it up.
