High Court grants bail to suspended IG

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday granted bail to suspended Inspector-General of Police P.S. Natarajan.

Natarajan surrendered before a local court on November 6 after being on the run for 15 months.

He was placed under suspension a day after two private news channels, on July 31 last year, showed him in compromising positions with a tribal woman.

In judicial custody

The 1975 batch IPS officer was remanded to judicial custody ever since his surrender before the court.

The woman had filed a complaint, charging Natarajan with rape. — PTI
