THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Sree Chitra Children's Home here, renovated by the Infosys Foundation at a cost of Rs. 45 lakh, was inaugurated by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on Monday. The kitchen, dining hall, toilets, tailoring section, school, library and hostels of the poor home were renovated. The foundation has provided 10 computers and a computer room for the home. New fans and lights were provided in the four dormitories and school building. S. Gopalakrishnan, president, chief operating officer and member of the board, Infosys, said the aim of renovation was to make it one of the best children's homes in the country. The poor home houses 280 underprivileged children 66 boys and 214 girls. Majority of them are in the age group of 5 to 15.
