VELLORE: Eleven students of Desia Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vellore, have qualified for the State sports meet to be held in Chennai next month. They had won the regional-level sports meets in Arakkonam and Tiruvannamalai last week. In the swimming competition for boys (regional level), held at the Town Hall, Arakkonam, R. Rajesh and M. Dinesh won the finals in the super seniors category, while P. Praveen Kumar and M. Naveen Prasanth were the winners in the seniors category. In the judo competition for boys (super seniors), T. Thomas and V. Srinivasan won in the final round. Jhansirani, Gayathri and Saini were the winners of the judo competition for girls in the super seniors category. Sivasankari and Pavithra won in the seniors category. Both the events were held at the Municipal Higher Secondary School in Tiruvannamalai. Desia Matriculation Higher Secondary School correspondent K. Mohan, Principal T.J. Narendran, Headmistress R. Revathi, physical education teacher S. Sathishkumar and coach J. Sakthivel felicitated the students at a function in the school recently.
