HYDERABAD: Grappling for information from slips provided by officials to enrich a debate will be a thing of the past in the Assembly. The day is also not far when legislators will be able to download information from the Internet for making their point.

Assembly Speaker K. R. Suresh Reddy has permitted legislators to use laptops in the House, making the State Assembly the first in the country to provide such a facility. Even as the announcement was made, members of the committee handling distribution of laptops handed over a laptop to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
