HYDERABAD: Vinayak Friends CC scored a seven-wicket win against Blinking Stars CC in the Jai Bhagawathi Cup floodlit cricket tournament at the QQSUDA Stadium here on Tuesday. Batting first, Blinking Stars scored 180 with Amit Banka (98, 71 balls, 16x4, 1x6) being the top-scorer. In reply, Vinayak Friends romped home in style with Mukesh Agarwal (74, 61 balls, 12x4, 1x6) and D. Rajender (55, 43 balls, 10x4) batting with authority. The scores: Blinking Stars 180 (Amit Banka 98) lost to Vinayak Friends 181 for three (Mukesh Agarwal 74, Rajender Darak 55).
Seta XI posts win
Seta XI recorded a 30 runs win against Spoorthy XI in the Mason & Summers Friendship Cup cricket tournament here. CMR in final
CMR College scored a seven-wicket win over CVSR College to enter the final of the State-level CMR Champions Trophy cricket tournament. Aravind took four wickets for CMR College. The scores: CVSR College 80 lost to CMR 82 for three.
Sub-junior tournament
The Hyderabad Hockey Association will organise selection trials and a sub-junior (under-14) tournament on December 23 and 24 at the Begumpet Police Stadium to pick the State team for the all-India K.D. Singh Babu sub-junior tournament to be held in Lucknow next month. Interested players should report to D. Ashok Kumar, assistant secretary of HHA, at the venue by 6.30 am on December 23.
