VADODARA: Baroda, faced with the primary task of getting 372 to overtake Andhra in the first innings, produced a professional batting display to reach 262 for three on the third day at the Motibaug ground here on Tuesday. Showing the way was captain Jacob Martin with a controlled, composed 78 (223b) as the Ranji Trophy Super League Group `A' match heads for a stalemate. The visitor will need an extraordinary bowling show to deny the home side the first innings honours on a slow track. Rakesh Solanki produced an enterprising, entertaining 104 not out (259b) while partner Pinal Shah's compact batting against the new ball meant heartbreak for Venugopala Rao's determined bunch. Andhra may end up paying the price for the first innings crawl (372 runs off 161 overs) against an experienced batting side.
