Modernisation work on Sagar from April

HYDERABAD: Modernisation work on the Nagarjunasagar project with the Rs.2,250-crore aid from the World Bank will begin in April next. Bank officials who gave their consent in principle earlier, held detailed talks with Chief Secretary J.Harinarayana and Irrigation Department officials on Tuesday for according final approval.

After the discussions, the World Bank team led by its country director, Fiaz Omar, asked the Government to submit the final approval document within two months so that the works could begin by April-May.
