Madikeri: Information concerning all aspects of Kodagu district will now be available on the Internet for the benefit of people on www.kodagu.nic.in, according to information available here on Tuesday.

With this, Kodagu has joined the 12 select districts in the State with a complete array of information concerning districts. Some of the important aspects concerning Kodagu are history, geography, climate, rain, temperature, tourist sports, rivers, population and others.

Deputy Commissioner, Subdoh Yadav, had taken all steps to put the system in place recently.

Under the head, "dcinspection", one would have access to details such as progress of various works undertaken by the Deputy Commissioner in the district, faults found and remedial steps taken, along with photographs.

Some of the other details available are about the staff and system of administration at the Deputy Commissioner's office, comprehensive information on the zilla panchayat, grants secured by it and spent, important celebrations, hotels and home-stay facilities, along with the contact addresses and telephone numbers.

Those who could not meet the Deputy Commissioner in person could lodge their grievances through the Net and seek a reply.

In the coming days, important government circulars would be published on the website.

The computers situated in the Deputy Commissioner's office were connected to a local area network.

Information would be upgraded from time to time with additional inputs in future.
