Course on AIDS inaugurated

NEW DELHI: The third Voluntary Confidential Counselling Testing (VCCT) course on HIV/AIDS for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police began at the Base Hospital here on Tuesday.

The two-day course was inaugurated by ITBP Director-General V.K. Joshi. In the first phase, 82 VCCT centres with rapid test kit facility will be opened.

Bihar college team visiting Capital

NEW DELHI: A 20-member college team from Madhubani in Bihar is now here on a study tour organised by Sashastra Seema Bal. The team will visit Rishikesh and Hardwar before returning home.

The SSB also organises various other welfare and awareness campaigns along the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan borders.

Diabetic screening camp held

NEW DELHI: The Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research organised a free diabetic screening camp in suburban Gurgaon over the weekend.

Apart from providing free consultation and expert advice, the camp also offered a whole package of check-ups like body mass index, blood pressure and random blood sugar tests.

Manav Sthali School stages musical play

NEW DELHI: "Chanakya'', a musical historical play, was staged by Manav Sthali School at New Rajendra Nagar here over the weekend. An alumnus of the school, double-trap shooter and silver medallist at the recently concluded Doha Asian Games, Vikram Bhatnagar, was also honoured by the school.

The chief guest on the occasion was the Deputy Director-General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ashok Das. A delegation of American students under the Children's International Summer Villages, a youth exchange programme, also attended the event.
