Siblings on the stage

CLASSICAL DANCE has a long history of sister-pairs performing together.

Actor Padmini who died recently was part of the well-known Travancore Sisters. Danseuse Vani Ganapathi, now a Bangalorean, used to appear on stage along with her sister, back then. A Bharatanatyam performance by young "Devanandan sisters" Megha and Sneha is on the cards now, arranged by the BTM Cultural Society.

The dance event will be held on December 23.

It will be followed by a Gottuvadyam and Sitar jugalbandhi by artistes Allam Durga Prasad and B. Shivarama Krishna Rao.
