NEW DELHI: Continuing with its sealing drive in South Delhi, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Tuesday targeted 23 properties along Mehrauli Road, Aurobindo Marg and Anuvrat Marg, including Bharti Airtel's main administrative office and Qutab Colonnade that once housed socialite Bina Ramani's Tamarind Court restaurant. The MCD had given a day's time to the owners of Qutab Colonnade, which now has a boutique and a jewellery store, and Bharti Airtel on Monday to furnish the valid documents. However, the civic body officials were not satisfied with their documents and sealed both the premises. The MCD squad also targeted two big emporia in the area -- India Cottage Industries and India Crafts Emporium -- besides carrying out the drive on Aurobindo Marg and Anuvart Marg. MCD has so far sealed 3,395 illegal commercial premises since November 8. Meanwhile, the MCD has clarified that owners of all the commercial establishments on 2,183 newly notified roads will have get their shops registered before December 31, including 24 businesses and trades operating from 20 sq. m. or less, besides four types of professionals.
