Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed the Cochin Port Trust (CPT) not to open the tenders submitted by the construction companies for reconstructing the Mattancherry Wharf following the invitation of a second notification. Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan issued the interim order on a writ petition filed by the Geo Tech Construction Company. The order will remain in force for three weeks. The petitioner said the company had submitted tenders following the issue of an earlier tender notification on May 27, 2006. According to the notification, the earnest money deposit was Rs.50 lakh. However, a special meeting of the Board of Trustee held on October 31, 2006, decided to cancel the earlier tender notification and go in for a fresh one.
