Baby with child welfare council

Thiruvananthapuram: The State Council for Child Welfare has taken charge of a four-and-a-half-month-old baby girl, who was found abandoned on the street at Vizhinjam, upon orders from the Chief Judicial Magistrate. The baby was found abandoned on December 14 and brought before the court by the Poovar police. The baby has been named Neeraja by the Council authorities. — Staff Reporters

Traders hold protest meeting

Thiruvananthapuram: All traders at Plamood area shut shop on Tuesday and organised a meeting in the evening to protest the vandalising of a furniture shop in the area by some anti-social elements, a statement issued by Kerala State Vyapari Vyavasayi Samithi, said. The samithi demanded that the police take immediate steps to arrest those responsible for the incident. — Staff Reporter

Youth empowerment seminar
