THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gandhian thought is the essence of Indian culture and it is the duty of the elderly people to reach Gandhian thought to the younger generation at this time when there is an erosion of values, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kerala M.K. Ramachandran Nair has said. He was inaugurating the one-day seminar on Gandhian thought organised by the Centre of the Gandhian Studies of the University, here, on Monday. Gandhiji was never opposed to science and technology. What is needed today, in addition to science and technology, is an education system that also imparts values, Mr. Nair said. The Indian of tomorrow belongs to the youth and the youth should learn to free themselves of selfishness, he added. Syndicate member C. Bhaskaran presided over the meeting.
