Farmhouse attacked

ERODE: A farmhouse near Vellode was attacked by four unidentified persons on Wednesday.

According to police, they attacked the owner of the farmhouse, Shanmugam, a financier, and decamped with jewellery. They also attacked the mother of Shanmugam, Thulasiammal and his wife Poonkodi. They took away the cellphone and bolted them from outside and escaped from the scene of crime.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Perundurai, A. Velu, who was on night patrol rushed to the area and rescued the three and admitted them to a hospital. The Vellode Police has registered a case and a manhunt has been launched to trace the culprits.
