A great loss

The death of Joseph Barbera who along with Bill Hanna created such inimitable cartoon characters as Tom and Jerry, Scoobydoo, Yogi Bear, and the Flintstones, is a great loss.

The Hanna-Barbera team, which was associated with MGM studios for a while, later formed the Hanna-Barbera studios and created a revolution in the field of animation films.

Several of their characters, mainly Tom and Jerry, won Academy awards.
