Dubs decision to go back to apex court "delaying tactic"
|
CHENNAI:
The Janata Party has described the State Government's decision to go back to the Supreme Court on the Mullaperiyar dam issue as "insincere and delaying tactic."
In a statement, party president Subramanian Swamy said Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, instead of going back to the Supreme Court, should threaten to withdraw from the United Progressive Alliance Government, as he did in the case of Neyveli disinvestment issue. He could resort to this option more easily, considering the large number of farmers involved.
"Cosmetic moves"
Dr. Swamy accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Government of making cosmetic moves "with the aim to postpone the raising" of water level in the dam.
