CHENNAI: The Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Chennai, C.R. Ravichandran, here on Wednesday conferred the title of `Swararaga Sarangyar' on carnatic musicians P.S. Narayanaswamy and V.L. Kumar and `Laya Vadhya Sironmani' title on Srimushnam Rajarao. A `ponnadai' and a memento was presented to the artists. Inaugurating the Sri Panchamukha Dwathasabuja Anjaneyar music festival organised by Sri Panchamukha Dwathasabuja Anjaneyar Festival Committee, Mr.Ravichandran said by organising such festivals, it not only promoted music but also indirectly drew attention to the root cause of bhakti movement. K. Srinivasaragavan, Station Director, All India Radio, Chennai, presided. K. Subramanian, senior advocate and Damal Sri Ramakrishnan of the Festival Committee were among those who spoke. Mr.Ramakrishnan also outlined the importance of Panchamukha Dwathasabuja Anjaneyar.
