`Criminal' killed
Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid near Jasola Sports Complex and the accused, Yashveer Fauji, was intercepted when he reached there in a vehicle. However, Yashveer allegedly fired at the police team and tried to flee. He was injured in the exchange of fire. He was taken to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences where he was declared dead on arrival. Yashveer was a sharpshooter allegedly working with the Sunder Bhatti gang.
Jewellery shop looted
According to the police, the men barged into a jewellery shop, Moti Jewellers, around 6-30 p.m. and fled with the some jewellery after threatening the owners with a gun. The shop is owned by Sumeet Gupta. Before escaping, the robbers fired in the air.
Robbery bid foiled
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at Samriti Van near Salvan School on Tuesday and arrested them. Two of their accomplices managed to flee. During interrogation, the accused, Pratap, Arjun and Babloo, purportedly confessed to having committed several robberies in the surrounding areas.
Nabbed for extortion
