This Day That Age
Mr. Tanzan Ishibashi, son of a Buddhist priest, was on December 20 elected Japan's new Premier in succession to Mr. Ichiro Hatoyama, who had announced his retirement last week. Mr. Ishiashi is a journalist and economist and was Trade Minister in Mr. Hatoyama's Government.
