"I am really touched," said K. Kasturirangan, former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) when President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam invited him to speak at the inauguration of the science and technology museum at S.R.V. Higher Secondary School here on Tuesday. Minutes after the programme began, Mr. Kalam was quick to find out that Dr. Kasturirangan's name was missing from the list of speakers for the function. The President was surprised to see that the name of Dr. Kasturirangan, who contributed Rs. 1.13 crore for setting up the science museum, was not included in the speaker's list. He informed M.A. Baby, Minister for Education, that Dr. Kasturirangan should address the student community. Moved by the gesture, the renowned scientist said: "I was not supposed to speak. My job (setting up the museum) has been done," Pointing out the services rendered by the President to the development of the nation, Dr. Kasturirangan said: "Dr. Kalam is on an extraordinary mission for the country. He has given a vision to each student. The President loves to interact with children. His messages are relevant to the entire student community."
