Programmes to create awareness about consumer rights

BANGALORE: Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Govind M. Karjol said here that week-long programmes have been planned at the district level to create awareness about consumer rights in connection with the National Consumer Day that falls on December 24.

Each district has been given Rs. 50,000 to conduct awareness programmes. A sum of Rs. 15 lakh had been released for the 150 schools that had set up school consumer clubs. Each school would get Rs. 10, 000 to organise events and programmes on the theme of consumer rights and awareness.
