Kumaraswamy to attend sahitya sammelan

BANGALORE:
Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will participate in the valedictory function of the four-day Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelan in Shimoga.
Mr. Kumaraswamy told presspersons here on Thursday that he did not want to show disrespect to the meet, which was being held in the land of the poet Kuvempu. Shimoga had made a great contribution to the development of Kannada, he said.
There were doubts about the Chief Minister attending meet, as he was said to be upset that Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Chandra- shekar Patil had not extended a proper invitation.
He had wanted to attend the procession on Wednesday but could not do so because of other engagements, he said.
