PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry has become the first State in the country to have hundred per cent banking connectivity.

A pilot project, launched under the Financial Inclusion plan by the Reserve Bank of India, had been completed in the Union Territory, a release from the Indian Bank said.

At the State Level Bankers Committee meeting held here on Tuesday, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy expressed happiness over the successful completion of the first phase of the project much before the scheduled time period, the release said. — Staff Reporter
