SR Champions Trophy cricket at Warangal

Hyderabad: The fifth SR Champions Trophy inter-collegiate cricket tournament will be organised by the SR Engineering College (Warangal) from January 12 to 21 at Warangal, according to A. Vardha Reddy, chairman of the SR Group.

Unlike the previous year, the event will be now open to all universities in the State and about 80 colleges are expected to take part in the new league-cum-knock-out format.

Accommodation and transport facilities will be taken care of by the organisers. Entries close on January 1. Further details can be obtained on Ph: 9246890461 / 08702817333.

Easy for SRTS-I

SRTS-I (Hyderabad) recorded a nine-wicket win against WRTS in the Powergrid inter-regional cricket tournament here on Friday.

The scores:

WRTS 158 for seven lost to SRTS-I (Hyderabad) 159 for one (A.H.V. Kumar 75, C.S.P. Gupta 62).

ERTS-I (Patna) 142 (Narendra Babu 40, A.K. Misra five for 36) lost to Corporate Centre 143 for no loss (Satyendra 51, Ranjit Singh 56).

SRTS-II 170 for seven (Gopalakrishna 55) bt NERTS 157 for eight (A.H. Sinha 41).

Venue shifted

The Punna Tennis Academy has intimated that the venue of the AITA sub-junior talent series tournament for boys and girls, to be held from Saturday, has been shifted from the Gymkhana courts to the Pallavi grounds near Bowenpally. For details call Ph: 98495-57911.

10K cross country run

The Hyderabad District Athletic Association will organise the Hyderabad 10K cross country championship at Osmania University on December 31 from 6.30 a.m.
